| Popis | Based on Catling’s typology, nine distinct conceptions – Globalist, Earthist, Interactionist, Placeist, Environmentalist, Localist, Map-lover, Synthesizer, and Facilitator – are operationalised through a 45-item questionnaire. Each conception is represented by five items, designed using authentic teacher statements from previous qualitative research. Responses were collected from 530 teachers across the country using a five-point Likert scale. The raw data are provided in .xlsx formats and support further statistical analysis, including factor validation or cross-subject adaptation. Due to its typological design, the dataset enables comparisons across different educational contexts and facilitates transfer of the conceptions framework to other school subjects. The item pool can be adapted for constructing typologies in fields such as mathematics, history, or science education. With its solid psychometric properties, the dataset offers a reusable foundation for examining how professional beliefs relate to instructional practice. It also underpins the conceptual structure of an online diagnostic tool (www.geo4tea.com), which visualises prevailing teaching conceptions. All items are originally formulated in Czech, allowing for direct translation tailored to linguistic and disciplinary contexts. |
