| Popis | The paper, presented at the 32nd EAS Conference / 10th ISME European Regional Conference in Évora, Portugal, examined the application of musical semiotic principles in music pedagogy to enhance listeners’ comprehension of musical meaning and content. It was grounded in recent research conducted by the Department of Music at Masaryk University, which investigated the musical preferences of young people in the Czech Republic, the European Union, and ISME member states. Through the theoretical frameworks of semiotics and music sociology, the study analysed the correlation between musical preferences and comprehension and demonstrated their key role in music education. The authors emphasized receptive education as an fundamental component of contemporary school music instruction. |
