Popis	This article examines Thomas Sautner's novel Das Mädchen an der Grenze (2017) with regard to the motif of the border¨in all its complexity. In this literary text, not only the representation of the topographical border and its crossing is important, but also the gradual dissolution of borders in the psychological perception of the main character. This shows symptoms that can be interpreted as a symbolic somatization of the political upheavals. The analysis shows that Sautner's novel has common features with border literature.
