Popis This chapter presents a literature review focusing on using vlogging as a foreign/second language production activity and its relation to students’ motivation and autonomy. Empirical research on the topic has only been developed recently. The oldest study presented herein was published in 2010, while most of the others only appeared within the last decade. In my review, I explore the methodologies employed in these studies, their approaches to student motivation and autonomy and their results that show the impact vlogging may have on these two parameters, as well as research gaps within this topic. All the studies show the advantages of using vlogging as a foreign/second language production activity, for example, improved motivation, autonomy or confidence. Future research might need to focus on various motivation types, explore the relation between vlogging and student learning strategies, and adopt a complex dynamic view of motivation and autonomy to capture its changes over time and in its complex nature and behaviour.
