Popis In parts of the world where applied behavior analysis (ABA) services are not available to those in need, or when global health situations arise that make face to face interactions with vulnerable populations challenging, alternative approaches may be needed. Fortunately, there is increasing empirical validation for the use of ABA-based telehealth services to support children with autism and their caregivers. In areas like the Czech Republic and surrounding countries ABA and telehealth practices are just emerging. Therefore, there are minimal regulations or systems guiding the use of ABA-based telehealth interventions for children with autism and their caregivers. To develop a model of low-cost, high-efficacy, and fidelity-driven ABA telehealth services in Central Europe, this study piloted a comprehensive and systematic package of remote consultation and coaching services to train caregivers of children with autism to build foundational skills with their children. Using a multiple baseline across behaviors design, caregiver skill acquisition was evaluated in numerous applied areas, including: pairing, gaining instructional control, responding to challenging behaviors, creating opportunities for learning, and language building. Preliminary results demonstrated that caregivers were able to learn and apply important ABA procedures to increase their and their children’s quality of life.
