Popis	This paper assesses the perception of the Austrian writer Heimito von Doderer (1896 – 1966) in the Czech Republic. Rather than focusing on the two Czech translations of his novels per se, it considers other areas of the reception - the spin-offs such as encyclopaedies, handbooks, academic theses and articles in the print media, as well as in the audio-visual media with a recording of Die Merowinger oder Die totale Familie.
