Our research aims to contribute to a better understanding improving of educational systems in changing world. It focuses on the aims, content, actors, proceses and learning outcomes in the school and beyond.
Curriculum and Instruction in School Subjects
We strive to provide a better understanding of curriculum and teaching and
learning. We look into different school subjects as taught in different types of schools on different school levels and look for means to improve these processes.
In the areas of language, mathematics, natural sciences, social sciences, art and technology education, various issues are addressed, such as plurilingualism, communication and interaction, learning strategies, expertise, competences, skills, knowledge etc.
Inclusive Education and Social Inclusion
We strive to contribute to education for all. We aim to address some of the major social issues, such as school segregation, unemployment, poverty and social exclusion of people with special needs. We strive to improve conditions for education, employment and the independent life of people with special needs. We study possibilities of inclusive education of all children and social inclusion throughout the lifespan.
