Navigate Gender-Sensitive Language

6 Oct 2022

At the Faculty of Education, we want to contribute to creating an open and respectful environment through how we communicate. Therefore, we use gender-sensitive language in written and spoken communication (e.g., initiation of faculty events). From 2020 onwards, the newly created Faculty regulations have been written in a gender-sensitive language.

To provide guidelines on how to work and adapt to the gender-sensitive language in the Czech, the Faculty of Education has published a Guide to Gender-Sensitive Communication. The guide is intended for those who choose to use language and other means of communication to express the fact that the academic community is made up of women and men of different identities (ethnic, gender, etc.) and people with health disadvantages. The guide suggests recommendations or inspiration. It provides concrete examples of how documents can be formulated in gender-sensitive language and how to deal with, for example, a graduate student, member or student.
