Tuition fee payment options

To pay your tuition fees, you have several options:

  • card,
  • bank transfer,
  • Convera,
  • or cash.

Regardless of the method you choose, all payments must start through the specific link to the MUNI Shopping Center provided by your admissions coordinator.

You can use the Convera GlobalPay platform to pay student fees by bank transfer, credit card, or through a wide range of local online payment options including Alipay, UnionPay, India Bank Transfer, and more, without incurring any transaction charges.

The Convera GlobalPay platform allows students, their families, or their sponsors to pay student fees in the currency of choice, providing a simple and secure way to initiate the payment.

Quick guide to using the platform

To use the platform, follow these instructions:

  1. Enter/select the country you are paying from.
  2. Enter the amount to pay in CZK.
  3. Select ‘Get a quote’.
  4. Select 'Show more options' at the bottom of the screen to view all options, including CZK if your local currency is not available.
  5. Select one of the options and enter the student/payer details.

If you choose to pay by bank transfer, use the payment instructions provided to make your payment through your bank (at branch, online, or phone banking). If you select an online payment option, you will be redirected to complete your payment.

Variable symbol (invoice number)

You will find this number in your payment instructions as the "variable symbol identifier." Be sure to include this variable symbol identifier with your payment to facilitate the accurate pairing of your payment with your account.

HOW TO INCLUDE THE VARIABLE SYMBOL ON THE CONVERA PLATFORM

You don’t type in just the variable symbol; the variable symbol must be preceded by the letters VS. For example: VS0123456789.

Visa information

To help you navigate the visa application process smoothly, here are some essential informations:

EU citizens can study in Czech Republic without visa or any other special permit.

All non-EU citizens need to apply for a visa or residence permit to stay legally for more than 3 months. We recommend applying for the long-term residence permit (purpose of studies).

After acceptance, we will send you the the admission documents with accommodation confirmation. You need to prepare other necessary documents and apply at the nearest Czech Embassy.

Scholarship programmes

Masaryk University Scholarships

  • Compatriots' Scholarship – The compatriots' scholarship fund is designed to help and encourage students to study in their ancestors' country. Masaryk University offers financial support of 100,000 CZK (circa 4,100 EUR) per year to students with Czech roots or with Czech ancestors newly enrolled in bachelor's and master's full-time programmes. Applications are accepted from 1 March 2025 to 31 August 2025.
  • Newcomers' Scholarship – Masaryk University offers financial support of 100,000 CZK (circa 4,100 EUR) to students enrolled in bachelor's and master's full-time programmes taught in languages other than Czech and coming from countries chosen according to the international marketing strategy of MU. Eligible countries include: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Georgia, Kosovo, Malaysia, Mexico, Montenegro, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam. You can submit your application from 30 November 2024 to 30 April 2025.
  • Accommodation Grant – Masaryk University students who meet conditions set out in section 8 of the MU Scholarship and Bursary Regulations may be awarded an accommodation grant.

Faculty of Education Scholarships

The scholarship programmes are not aimed at coming paying students and focus on activities of active students like presenting at a conference, undertaking an internship of study exchange or having outstanding study results.

Halls of Residence

Masaryk university offers students accommodation in its halls of residence.

University halls of residence provide students with accommodation throughout their studies. The MU Accommodation and Catering Services (SKM MU) are tasked with the administration of a total of 10 accommodation facilities, which provide facilities such as gyms and other sports facilities, computer rooms, TV and common rooms, table tennis halls and services such as internet access.
