Description The chapter deals with the issue of immigrants entering Czech society. The interpretation is based on the assumption that our society is multicultural and therefore approaches migration positively. However, a positive approach does not guarantee the willingness of the majority to learn and adapt together with the newcomers. The social problem of this study is the socio-cultural handicap in the acculturation process that newcomers bring with them from their home country. The most vulnerable group of immigrants are considered to be children, who are also undergoing adaptation in school. School adaptation is a complex process that pupils from a foreign language background cannot cope with alone and need the support of the school and family environment to ensure its success.
