Description The exhibition presents the outputs of the children's art workshop, which took place in January 2024 in the painting studio at the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Arts of the MU in Brno. Eleousa” represents the type of madonna tenderly and warmly pressing a baby in her arms. The religious level is surpassed here by the deeply human theme of a child's unconditional love for a close person. The exhibition presents variations of the theme in the paintings of preschool children. The creation was motivated by an authentic relationship with a loved one. The inspiration came from a discussion of photographs depicting the emotional relationship of a child with a loved one, as well as examples from fine art in the form of traditional Christian icons (images of the Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus). The children then followed the theme by painting or using the opportunity to "play" with colors and non-traditional instruments. They symbolically expressed the emotion associated with the creative process and portrayed those closest to them. The resulting works represent a personal artistic statement, which is "crowned" by the creative work with the color gold, a symbol of all-embracing perfect love and life-giving, nourishing power. Painting, unencumbered by formal requirements for the final form, thus became an enticing adventure, a path of discovery that the child embarked on. The result was not only new knowledge, but also an unrepeatable experience that creation brought to children.
