Description The literature review analyzes nineteen monographs, chapters in monographs, specialized papers and documents, which are focused on issues of teacher assistants for pupils with special educational needs in inclusive school environment. Based on research results Czech and foreign authors, we decided to focus on preferred level of education of teacher assistants, other important qualification assumptions of assistants, risks associated with improper involvement of assistants in teaching and on the quality and intensity of cooperation of teacher assistant with teacher. Realized analysis reveals, that intensive cooperation of teacher assistant with teacher, joint preparation for teaching and joint assessment of previous work of assistant in teaching belong to the most important assumptions for the effective performance of work of teacher assistant. Currently is however their level in many cases insufficient.
