Representatives of the Faculty of Education received the MU Rector's Award

On 22 May 2025, a festive assembly of the academic community Dies academicus, traditionally associated with the awarding of the prestigious MU Rector's Awards, took place in the Karel Engliš Grand Auditorium at the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University. Zuzana Dvořáková and student Matěj Brožek received the awards from the Faculty of Education.

MASARYK UNIVERSITY RECTOR'S AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING STUDENTS OF MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAMMES
Bc. Matěj Brožek

Matěj Brožek, a student of the study programme Technical and Information Education with a focus on Education, was awarded not only for his excellent academic results, but also for his extraordinary professional and creative activity. In 2023, he created a prototype of the Termio web application, which serves as an innovative tool to support teachers and students in education. He successfully presented his project at the international conference Olympiad of Technology Pilsen 2023 and received the Dean's Award for Outstanding Student at PdF MU.

As part of his thesis, he extended the application with an e-learning section with gamification elements and verified its use in teaching through research at a secondary school. For his work, he also received support from the MU Grant Agency for Outstanding Master Theses (project MUNI/C/0038/2024).

MASARYK UNIVERSITY RECTOR'S AWARD FOR VOLUNTEERING CATEGORY EMPLOYEES
Bc. Zuzana Dvořáková

Zuzana Dvořáková received the MU Rector's Award for Volunteering in the Employee category. She has been actively involved in volunteering activities since 2022, when she started cooperation with the university initiative MUNI HELPS. She co-organizes the Summer School of Tutoring - three months of intensive preparation and the actual implementation, during which she not only communicates with parents but also takes care of the volunteer team, including providing meals for all participants.

She also initiated a regular group tutoring program called Klubík, which takes place every week and supports children and families from socially disadvantaged backgrounds for a long time. All of these activities are carried out outside of her job description. Through his commitment and sharing of experience, he contributes significantly to the development of the volunteer community at the university and helps to build links between study practice and volunteering of students not only from the Faculty of Education. Her work has a real impact on children facing unequal educational conditions.
