One of the main objectives of the European Action Plan on Language Learning is for every citizen of the Union to master their mother tongue and besides, to speak at least two foreign languages in order to communicate successfully at private and public levels, in education and employment. In connection with these current targets, increased attention is paid to the application of new and efficient teaching methods that can be used to achieve the objectives mentioned above. We are to respond to the needs of learning and teaching practice by means of curriculum innovation which involves creating and introducing a new course called "CLIL and Teaching German" and a concept of teaching which integrates content and language. One-semester optional course "CLIL and German courses' aims to introduce MA-students of Teaching German at Basic and Language Schools (single-subject study) and students of Teacher Training in German Language and Literature (double-subject study) with the concept of this approach, the conditions and possibilities of implementing it to learning and teaching practice.
Equally important benefits are expected from integrating this course to lifelong learning programmes. Here, the students may soon confront the acquired knowledge with the teaching experience they have already acquired. The newly designed course will be taught as seminars.
