Masaryk University, Faculty of Education, Brno requests the cooperation of Intelligence Systems GEO, Ltd., Kyiv, Ukraine in organizing an event entitled NATO Advanced Research Workshop to be carried out under the NATO SCIENCE PROGRAMME, Cooperative Science + Technology Sub-Programme in Yalta, scheduled for September 18-20, 2001. The theme of this international event is "Role of GIS in Lifting the Cloud Off Chernobyl". The Workshop will assess the contribution of modern map-related information technologies, such as Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing, to management of Chernobyl consequences and similar emergencies around the world, and propose the best possible approaches to the rehabilitation of contaminated areas in Ukraine and surrounding countries.
