Digital landscape model is at least a fourdimensional (4D) computer generated scheme of selected landscape segment representing in a simplified form its basic structural and dynamic features. The model manipulation is controlled by user s commands submit ted to the integrated database through the knowledge base. The last one can control the sequence of steps individually with direct user influence until the defined state is reached. The first three dimensions of the model describe the structural (spatial ) segment features, while the fourth one represents the time aspect. The model consists of integrated layers of territorial information (so called 'supraficial' and 'subsurfacial' information layers, digital elevation model) and an expert system (knowled ge base) for the model manipulation. In a comparison to similar, but basically mechanically compiled models without an integrated database, the digital landscape model ensures the logical and spatial ballance between individual data (geology, soils, biot
