Description In the book, research tools are presented that allow to capture aspects of quality of curriculum and instruction as well as results of research that aimed to analyse these aspects. The authors present system of categories that were developed to analyse curricular documents in teaching history, issues of ideology in civics textbooks and issues of the European dimension in history textbooks. Other presented tools include those aimed to analyse non-verbal elements of geography textbooks, visual elements of textbooks of German as a second language, observational tool to analyse foreign language instruction, a system of categories to capture gender stereotypes and inequities in English as a foreign language lessons, a system of categories for analysing the diagnostic competence of (future) English teachers, a questionnaire for analysing self-regulating learning, questionnaires for analysing strategies of foreign language learning and a didactic test of cartographic competences in geography.
