Description This research project follows the theoretical data presented in the previous chapter. Learning a foreign language is compulsory for children from grades 3 to 9 in mainstream schools, above that, a second foreign language is added in lower secondary schools. This means that also students with Asperger syndrome, who are often integrated into mainstream schools, have to learn the language. We are presenting five case studies and summary of three interviews with mothers. Our intention was not to present detailed case studies with methodology and didactics of English but to give overview of possible ways of teaching language to such a specific group. The main aim of this paper is to show that learning language is meaningful to this group to the same extent as to everybody else. We provide useful material of this specificity for both teachers and parents.
