Description The subject of the paper are lexical borrowings from German language in the colloquial Czech used in a village 20 km far from BRNO (Czech Republic, Moravia). The analyzed corpus includes expressions related to everyday life, used by local Czechs, born before the World War I and in the period between the world wars. It is divided to general expressions, comprehensible and live used until now, those which fell into desuetude, expressions of French origin that penetrated to Czech through the German language and expressions of German origin, whose German etymon hasn’t been discovered. Each term is accompanied by its German etymon and the Czech and French equivalents.
