| Description | The Quebec Gazette – La Gazette de Quebec is the oldest newspaper in French language in North America, as well the oldest bilingual English-French periodical in the Welt. The first The Quebec Gazette – La Gazette de Quebec was published on 21 June 1794 by William Brown and Thomas Gilmore. It brings political and business news from Europe, Asia, North America and others. This article aims to analyse several news about the agitated political situation in the Middle Europe from 1768, about the disturbance happened in 1770, with mention of mountains of Bohemia, and due to nature phenomenons. The typical news from the North America is represented by the War between Indian’s tribes. We also treat the specificity of French orthography used in The Quebec Gazette – La Gazette de Québec which illustrates the orthographical incertitude persisting in the 18th century. |
