Description Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) belongs to recent educational trends. Its beginnings in the Czech Republic are challenging due to the high percentage of foreign language teachers without full qualification and rather low foreign language communicative competences of subject teachers. The key to success is thorough teacher education on both the pre-service and in-service level. The author reflects on her experience as a facilitator and coordinator of a group of primary and secondary in-service teachers who are currently introducing CLIL into the school educational programmes at their schools. The experience of accompanying practising teachers on their way to innovated teaching procedures serves as a valuable source of research data. The action research carried out in the process of cooperation with in-service teachers is beneficial in the process of introducing modules and courses aimed at CLIL to pre-service teacher education.
