Description A Theory of Semiotics is an essential professional literature in its field. Umberto Eco has written this work in English and subsequently translated into Italian under the name Trattato generale di semiotica. Eco sees semiotics in a broader context, especially as the equivalent of cultural anthropology, as a human being as the creator of the sign is in fact the very essence of sign and the sign is consequently the essence of all human communication, that is the basic building block of culture. This annotated translation was created for needs for semiotic researches of translator and the department.
