Description Tea extracts (extracted by hot water, 10 to 30 g of dry tea/ 100 ml) were allowed to be positive antimutagens based on their ability to inhibit the mutagenic effect of standard mutagen 4nitroquinoline 1oxid. All tested extracts exhibited high antioxidant capacity and high positive antimutagenicity. Treatment of D7 cells by tea extracts led to 40 to 60 per cent on average of inhibition of trp convertants frequence and to 40 to 50 per cent of inhibition of ilv revertants frequence.
