Description Differentiation in the teaching process is one of the key issues in the current curricular reform in the Czech Republic. The author discusses the transformation of the content with regard to individual characteristics of the pupil in foreign language teaching. She describes the design of a research study of the differentiation process in English language teaching. In the study she is cooperating with a focus group of primary teachers. The differentiation is achieved on the basis of the diagnosis of the individual characteristics, needs and preferences of the pupils.
