Description	National and Local Governments try to support tourism industry through tourism policy and so increase its efficiency and competitiveness. The contribution covers a case study of pragmatic tourism policy applied in Switzerland. Generally, the paper analyzes all available attributes of tourism policy and moreover shows its development where is possible.
