Description From IXth to XIIIth Century the negation has two varieties : neutral and accentuated. The neutral negation consists of the single negative particle ne, that does not suppose the usage of the preposition de in the position for massif nouns in negation. When the negative particle is accentuated by the medium of another particle e.g. ne - point, ne - pas, the noun in negation is introduced by the preposition de. The negative accentuated particles point, pas, ... namely conserve their original character of noun. The preposition de then acts as a connecting element between two nouns. Until XIXth Century the negative particles ne-point, the accentuated function of the particle was progressively neutral and grammaticalizeated, predominate at the expense of ne-pas in position for nouns, otherwise in a positive construction they demand the partitive article as their determinent. The negative particle point then refers rather to massive and abstract nouns.
