| Description | Telomeres are essential chromosomal structures that protect genome integrity and play a central role in aging and cell proliferation. In plants, the epigenetic landscape of telomeres and their adjacent subtelomeric regions has emerged as a critical component regulating telomere function and genome organization. This review summarizes current knowledge of chromatin modifications at plant telomeres, and the impact of chromatin-associated factors on telomere stability. We also discuss experimental tools for studying telomere epigenetics, and identify key open questions in the field. |
