Citation
Description The current discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in creative industries mostly focuses on the sphere of aartistic creativity, i.e. on the generation of images, texts or melodies using freely available intelligent applications. However, artificial intelligence has also recently been given increased attention in the field of curatorship. In this paper, I will focus on those examples of the use of this technology that go beyond museum practice towards the concept of curatorship as an authorial, creative gesture. Examples of exhibitions and festivals that were created using artificial intelligence as a curatorial agent will be placed in the context of the development of creative curation and online curation, with emphasis on the tendency to make systems and processes visible in the background of gallery practice and the art world and to introduce distributed forms of curatorial agency. In this article, I will seek an answer to the question of what (new) models of curation are emerging in connection with the advent of artificial intelligence and what visual and linguistic metaphors are used in them to form ideas about possible forms of artificial intelligence.
