| Description | This conference abstract presents partial results of an ongoing dissertation research on the oral corrective feedback (OCF) use in EFL classes. The research aims to determine the current state of the OCF use in EFL classes in Czech lower secondary schools, to clarify teachers’ perspectives on the teaching situations, and to describe the accompanying formative aspects. The research data was collected through observations of classes, interviews with teachers and focus group interviews with learners. The results show that teachers’ approaches to providing OCF individually vary; however, teachers have reasons for their actions based on their beliefs about the teaching situations. Teachers also use various formative strategies to highlight an error or to reinforce the correct language form. |
