| Description | This review explores the concept of geographic giftedness in the context of education and highlights its importance and potential for development. Geographic giftedness, defined as exceptional ability in understanding and using geographic concepts, is increasingly recognized as essential for addressing global challenges. This review synthesizes findings from eight selected publications and highlights the complex nature of identifying and supporting geographically gifted learners. It discusses the characteristics that distinguish these students, including advanced cognitive skills, spatial reasoning, and interdisciplinary understanding. The review also outlines effective strategies for stimulating geographic giftedness, such as providing appropriate challenges, encouraging authentic geographic thinking, and incorporating mapping skills into educational programs. |
