Description The lecture focused on defining multimodality and elaborating on the concept of multimodal communicative competence (MCC), as well as its integration into models of intercultural communicative competence (ICC) and, consequently, into the practice of foreign language teaching (FLT). The integration was illustrated with practical examples of the use of multimodal interpretation techniques in teaching English literature, implemented as part of the project Innovation in Teaching Contemporary British and American Literature and Its Integration with the Courses Teaching Practice 1 and 2 at Masaryk University.
