Description This GAČR-supported project examines the inclusion process of Ukrainian refugee pupils in Czech lower-secondary schools amidst Europe's largest refugee crisis. Drawing on international inclusion frameworks (e.g., the 4-A model), the research employs a mixed-methods case study approach, combining large-scale surveys with in-depth interviews and observations involving pupils, parents, and educators. The study aims to offer empirical insights into both structural and relational inclusion challenges, addressing gaps left by policies primarily focusing on social adaptation over academic integration. Findings will highlight critical needs in systemic support and inclusive school cultures, contributing to the broader international discourse on fostering equitable educational environments for displaced children across Europe.
