| Description | The presented poster reported two speeded acceptability experiments testing for thr presence of NPI and NCI illusions in Czech comprehenders. Contrary to the results from other languages such as English, sentential negation served as an illusory licensor for NPIs. NCIs also exhibited illusory licensing effects. The results challenge both active scope and scalar theories of illusory licensing and support feature percolation and cue-based retrieval accounts. |
