Description Since medieval times, the location of today's Křenová Street has been crossed by an important road leading from Brno to Olomouc. At that time, the town hospital of St. Stephen was located here, as well as the execution site near the so-called Zderad's Column. In the 17th century, Brno established the Nový svět inn on Křenová Street, which was the only place in the city for Jewish merchants to spend the night. Jews significantly influenced the history and the look of this area in the following centuries (Polish Temple). From the end of the 18th century, a number of textile factories were also built here. The lecture also focused on the architecture of the 19th century, specifically the buildings of Ludwig Förster and Josef Nebehosteny.
