Description In today's pluricultural and plurilingual society, mediation is considered a useful or necessary competence that can be developed in foreign language teaching at all levels. This article focuses on the implementation of mediation courses in the teacher training programme German as a Foreign Language at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University in Brno, which are evaluated and developed on the basis of research. The didactic concept of two mediation courses and the research design are presented below, and the results from the current research phase are summarised and explained.
