| Description | The paper focuses on Karel Čapek and his reaction to contemporary Czech art, more precisely to Cubism. It analyses his attitudes and approaches to this modern artistic movement. The focus of the study is Čapek's aesthetic apparatus and his reflection on works of art. Special emphasis is placed on the use of the journalistic texts that Čapek devoted himself to as the main source for this analysis. The paper reflects on the author's influence on Czech visual art and presents questions for further research. |
