Description This study was created as part of specific research at the Department of Primary Pedagogy of the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University and as a follow-up to a previous study, the aim of which was to find out how parents within the family environment support the development of their children's preliteracy. The results raised questions related to the socioeconomic status of bilingual education in the family and the use of information about the child when working in kindergarten, which is the focus of the current study. The aim of the research is to find out how the development of reading preliteracy of a bilingual child is supported in the family and kindergarten. The results show a strong support of reading literacy and bilingual education from the family. Kindergarten also supports reading pre-literacy, but is less systematically targeted at the specific needs of a bilingual child.
