Description Key competences have been the main target category of school education in the Czech Republic for more than 15 years and it can be assumed that they will remain so even after the planned revisions of the curriculum. However, as in other countries, their introduction was a top-down reform implemented without in-depth theorisation, empirical verification and, as a result, systematic methodological support. We would like to find out how the concept has been received by teachers, and this analysis is a first step. The paper will present the initial results of the analysis of available SEPs from primary schools in the South Moravian Region (N = 470). Using a summative content analysis we will seek to answer the question how competences are included in the curriculum and how work with them is described.
