Description A Student Teacher Professional Competence Standard (hereafter referred to as the Standard) is a tool for comprehensive formative self-assessment and evaluation of the professional competency level of student teachers (for primary and secondary schools), used at the Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, during their studies as part of pre-graduate professional training. The Standard enables student teachers, university supervisors, and mentor teachers to create a unified understanding of teaching quality and to monitor student teachers' progress during teaching practices. Its goal is to support the development of student teachers' professional competencies in collaboration with all involved actors. The data from student teachers' self-assessments allow teacher educators to view their professional growth and to reflect on the quality of pre-graduate preparation and to explore ways to implement the tool with deeper understanding in pre-graduate training.
