Description The paper provides an overview of all findings of the predatory bush-cricket from the area of interest. There are altogether 36 findings, of which five were published previously and 31 are newly reported. The greater number of recent data compared to historical data is due to targeted monitoring carried out there since 2011 and apparently also to an increase in numbers of the species. The predatory bush-cricket is found in dry and warm habitats, typically in dry heathlands and grasslands with varying coverage of expansive woody plants. These are mostly extensively grazed or mowed areas. The habitats of this bush-cricket are currently threatened mainly by overgrowing. The management of Saga pedo sites should consist of extensive grazing and regulation of expansive woody species. Targeted monitoring of this important steppe species should also be extended to nearby localities in Lower Austria (around Retz).
