Description In each panel, about four renowned experts discuss controversial topics from the field of DaF/DaZ. The Panels-Plus are prepared by a dialogue-discursive exchange of texts and positions: The discussion takes place alternately in small working groups and on stage. The topic of multilingualism is highly topical. On the one hand, there are concepts that are primarily designed for foreign language teaching, such as intercomprehension and tertiary language didactics or DaFnE, which aim at economising language learning processes and acquiring language learning strategies. On the other hand, there are approaches that are designed more for the DaM/DaZ context, such as the didactics of language diversity, which primarily aim to establish the school classroom as a cultural and linguistic encounter space and to develop language awareness. A multilingual didactic concept that has increasingly come to the fore in recent years and has both been taken up in different teaching contexts (DaM/DaZ vs. DaF) and empirically investigated more than earlier concepts is translanguaging, which questions the definability of individual languages from the learner's perspective and focuses more on the learners themselves and their entire linguistic repertoire.
