Description The thesis focuses on research as the basis of a constructivist approach to the educational process to promote independent learning, which is a prerequisite for lifelong learning. The thesis deals with the experimental verification of the possibilities of implementing exploration on the example of a set of sub-methodologies and their subsequent analysis and synthesis with pupils of the first year of a selected primary school. The aim is not only to design, im-plement and reflect on the sub-methodologies, but above all to describe, on the basis of participant observation, the possible pitfalls accompanying the implementation of teaching research by both pupils and teachers. The output of this thesis is thirteen sub-methodologies that describe the individual sci-ence topics corresponding to the primary school curriculum where they were implemented and reflected upon.
