| Description | The eighth annual Janáček Brno International Music Festival included an evening with church music in its concert program. The vocal-instrumental compositions "Our Father" (JW IV/29), "Lord, Have Mercy!" (JW/5) and "Ave Maria" (JW II/14) by Leoš Janáček and "Mass for mixed choir and double wind quintet" by Igor Stravinsky. The entire concert was introduced by Janáček's "Choral Fantasy" (JW VIII/4). Jakub Klecker took the post of conductor, the choir part was sung by Canticum Ostrava under the direction of Jurij Galatenko, the solo singing parts belonged to Zuzana Čurmová (soprano), Alžběta Symerská (alto), Aleš Briscein (tenor) and Ondřej Musil (bass). Among the instrumentalists appeared Petra Kujalová (organ), Dominika Svozilová (harp) and students of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts Brno. |
