Description The paper provides an overview of the key topics of preschool research and seeks to answer the question What changes has this research undergone over the last 20 years? Empirical studies of relevant Czech journals and proceedings from conferences published in the period 2000–2020 were analyzed. The results of the study show that the thematic focus of research has not changed much during the two monitored decades. However, the authors have found changes in the methodology used. Findings from the monitored studies suggest that Czech pre-school education, even after 20 years, still faces relatively large problems in the implementation of curricular reform.
