Description This paper presents the objectives of Pre-school Education in the Czech Republic given by a valid curricular document and opportunities that allow expressive expression of a child. It puts forward an argument, which advocates the contribution of artistic activities to the development of children, their value orientation and a creation of the foundations of key competences. It offers partial results of the research carried out, which allowed to name negative phenomena in Education through artistic activities. It also presents examples from pedagogical practice that demonstrate that an expressive creation has an irreplaceable role and benefits in Pre-school Education.
