Description Beginning teachers are a promising but vulnerable professional group, as they often face several difficult problems while entering their teaching practice. And that is why the professional situation of beginning kindergarten and primary school teachers has become the subject of research solved at the Faculty of Education, MU. Based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research, it was found that graduates feel prepared especially in teaching, however, they feel unprepared to work with students with special educational needs. They perceive that they are not prepared for cooperation and communication with parents and have significant problems if they have to teach at a different school level than they studied. For faculties of education, this means that they should strengthen child psychology, psychodidactics, and inclusive pedagogy in the teaching curriculum across all levels of the school and that communication training for future teachers should be strengthened, especially for actors such as parents.
