Description The ethnographical study focuses on how student-teachers work with student diversity on their teaching practice. We understand student diversity from the sociological (as construction of differences among pupils) as well as educational point of view (as respect towards individual educational needs). Data corpus consists of field notes from 20 lessons of 4 student teachers on their teaching practice at 2 lower secondary schools, their video recordings, 20 lessons preparations, field notes from 20 reflections with mentor teachers and their transcripts, 12 reflective diaries, and 7 interviews with student teachers and mentor teachers. The findings show how student teachers are socialised into construction of students' diversity, how they are mentored by teachers to respond to students' sociocultural differences, SEN, disabilities, and other individual learning needs. The paper was founded by the Czech Science Foundation (GA19-06763S Ethnography of Diversity in Pre-Service Teacher Education).
