Description In the context of international labour market, knowledge of foreign languages is not only a tool to understand people of different cultures but also an essential condition of success. It is necessary not only to understand each other, but also understand wider context by developing intercultural communication competence. The workers, often of different cultures, are confronted to different styles of management and may have different attitudes and expectations. The contribution presented a PhD research project on intercultural communication competence in French for specific purposes. A part of the research focuses on intercultural differences in professional context thanks to a qualitative research on a sample of students of French-Czech master of public administration who leave for France for an internship and a sample of their French supervisor.
