Description In order to map and characterize an actual state of the teaching music theory at primary art schools in the Czech Republic, in spring 2018 the explanatory survey was conducted by the Department of Music Education at the Faculty of Education in Brno named Current Trends in Music Theoretical Teaching in Basic Art Schools of the Czech Republic. The survey consisted of a written test and questionnaire for pupils as well as of an online questionnaire for teachers. The questionnaire for teachers included, among other things, a section dealing with the correlation between the composition of musical activities and the representation of particular types of music in the context of the teaching music theory. This paper aims to inform and interpret these particular findings.
