Description In the paper, the research of space in the works of two French authors of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, Christiane Singer and Sylvie Germain, was presented. Their spatial inspirations intersect in many respects. The methodology of geocritics was chosen to compare the approaches of these authors. We focus on exploring the relationships between literary text and the human environment. The authors try to cope with the relativity of the space occupied by the literary characters themselves, verbally defining it and moving in it. The understanding of the literary space must necessarily reflect not only the actual geographic-historical level, but also the personal cultural experience of both authors.
